Output Feedback Stabilization for a Scalar Conservation Law with a Nonlocal Velocity
In this paper, we study the output feedback stabilization for a scalar conservation law with a nonlocal velocity that models a highly re-entrant manufacturing system as encountered in semiconductor production. By spectral analysis, we obtain a complete result on the exponential stabilization for the linearized control system. Moreover, by using a Lyapunov function approach, we also prove the ex...

Self-Organisation to Criticality in a System without Conservation Law
We numerically investigate the approach to the stationary state in the nonconservative Olami-Feder-Christensen (OFC) model for earthquakes. Starting from initially random configurations, we monitor the average earthquake size in different portions of the system as a function of time (the time is defined as the input energy per site in the system). We find that the process of selforganisation de...
Stabilization of a Type III Thermoelastic Bresse System with Distributed Delay-time
In this paper, we investigate a Bresse-type system of thermoelasticity of type III in the presence of a distributed delay. We prove the well-posedness of the problem. Furthermore, an exponential stability result will be shown without the usual assumption on the wave speeds. To achieve our goals, we make use of the semigroup method and the energy method.
A Conservation Law Method in Optimization
Abstract We propose some algorithms to find local minima in nonconvex optimization and to obtain global minima in some degree from the Newton Second Law without friction. With the key observation of the velocity observable and controllable in the motion, the algorithms simulate the Newton Second Law without friction based on symplectic Euler scheme. From the intuitive analysis of analytical sol...
